| All new employees gather in Nobeoka City, Miyazaki Prefecture, which is the birthplace of the Asahi Kasei Group, and undergo training together to learn the fundamentals of the Company and the work. Through this training, new employees lay the foundations for a richer lifestyle as an Asahi Kasei employee, for example by strengthening ties with others who joined the company in the same year. A variety of training is also provided after the work has begun.

| The Asahi Kasei Group and the Group companies provide support for independent activities by employees aimed at increasing their specialized knowledge or their ability to execute their duties, even outside of regular work hours. Specific examples include subsidies for examination fees in the case of national or public certifications (100% if certification is obtained), and subsidies for fees required to enroll in courses (as a rule, 50% for either regular classes or correspondence courses) conducted by external educational or training institutions.

| Yes. Courses include overseas studies in which the employee seeks out the potential study location and applies independently, and gdesignated overseas study coursesh recommended by the head of the division with which the employee is affiliated. Both types of courses are used to help employees acquire international skills. If the courses last for more than one year, family members may accompany the employee to the study location. |
