| The Group Company to which you will be assigned is decided before you are hired, from among the preferences that you have indicated. You will be notified of the company assignment before you begin employment. Work locations and assignments to specific Divisions will be decided after you are hired, taking into consideration your preferences and aptitudes, among other factors.

| Employees are sometimes transferred to different Divisions, depending on the requirements of the work and the individual employeefs career path. The period and frequency of transfers differs depending on the individual employeefs situation and the type of position.

| Yes. At Asahi Kasei, in addition to regular staff rotations, we use an application-based personnel system, so employees can transfer to entirely different positions or Group companies. In this gapplication-based personnel system,h employees are free to apply for positions at Divisions seeking staff, and can transfer to those Divisions. Since this system was introduced in 2003, about 100 employees have transferred to their preferred Divisions, and are making active contributions there. |

| We currently have about 130 employees on assignments in the U.S., Germany, China, and other countries. Asahi Kasei is planning to invest more energy in expanding its global operations, so the opportunities for overseas work will no doubt increase in the future. Even if you are working in Japan, you may be asked to go on business trips to foreign countries in Asia, the Middle East, or other regions, to work in local sales or management operations. |

| In addition to regular evaluations, Asahi Kasei offers awards each year to recognize employees in both technical and clerical positions who have made substantial contributions to the company or its business operations. A variety of awards are offered, including merit awards and awards for achievements in science and technology. Employees who have demonstrated outstanding achievements in highly specialized fields, and who have contributed to the companyfs business, are granted the position of gGroup Fellowh or gSpecialist,h along with corresponding compensation. |

| In the Asahi Kasei Group, we place a very high value on interactions between employees across Group companies, and on the ties developed among employees who joined the company around the same time. There are many opportunities to interact with employees working in different fields, in both work-related and social situations. Sporting events, festivals, and other events organized by employees are also held with the companyfs support.
